SURESH JOACHIM TO SET WORLD RECORD IN TIME FOR ARGOS GAME ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20
Toronto – Guinness Book of World Records Hall of Fame member, Suresh Joachim will be spinning tunes for 105 straight hours in celebration of Toronto Argonauts World Record Night, presented by Woodbine Racetrack.
Joachim, who currently holds 21 world records, set in nine different countries, plans to become the world record holder for THE NON STOP CLUB DJ 105 HOURS. Damion Houchen (aka DJ Genix) of the UK is the current record holder at 84 hours between February 16 & 19, 2005.
As part of the record, Suresh must have dancers nearby for every minute that he mixes music. Members of the Blue Thunder Cheerleaders will be there dancing and the Toronto Argonauts encourage their fans to come down and dance the hours away too. There will be great photo opportunities available.
DETAILS OF MIXING SESSION:
START: Monday, October 16, at 1 p.m. ET
LOCATION: EDGE 102.1 Store Front Studio, 228 Yonge Street
END: Friday, October 20, approximately 9 p.m. ET
LOCATION: Rogers Centre, Saskatchewan Roughriders @ Toronto Argonauts
The session will begin at the EDGE 102.1 Store Front Studio, 228 Yonge Street, where Joachim will mix music until he moves to Rogers Centre at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 20 - in time for the Toronto Argonauts home game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Once at Rogers Centre, Joachim will continue to mix music until approximately 9 p.m. until he sets the new world record. The accomplishment will be commemorated during the third quarter of action.
RULES OF THE MIXING SESSION:
Vinyl discs or CDs must be played throughout the attempt.
There must be no pauses longer than ten seconds between tunes; music must be continuous.
No premixing (ie: pre-recorded sections on CD, or mastermixes on vinyl) is allowed.
No more than two turntables may be used. (A third turntable may be kept in reserve but may be used only in the event of mechanical failure of either of the other two turntables.)
No individual disc, and no piece of music, may be repeated in performance within four hours. A list of all the tunes played must be maintained.
A dancing audience, even if it is a single individual, must be present throughout the DJ session, but no member of the audience may attend for more than four hours at a stretch..
