LONGEST PUNCH-BAG MARATHON - 50 HOURS

SURESH JOACHIM’S 50th WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT

Toronto – Guinness Book of World Records Hall of Fame member, Suresh Joachim will be attempting to break the longest punch-bag marathon.  He will be continually punching a punch-bag for 50 hours.  The current record is:  The record for the punch-bag marathon is 36 hours & 3 minutes was set by Ron Sarchian (USA) from 15 to 17 June 2004.  

According to the strict Guinness rules:

  • The participant must stand for all punches
  • After each strike of the bag, the arm must return to the original position.
  • The punch-bag must be punched at least every two seconds for the duration of the attempt

This will be Suresh’s 50th Guinness World Record when completed.  Suresh currently holds the 2nd most World Record’s.  Some of the records Suresh currently holds include balancing on one foot for 76.5 hours, non-stop crawling for 56.62 km, riding up and down an escalator 11.791 times, carrying a 4.5 kilogram brick for 135.5 km, dribbling a basketball for 156.71 km in 24 hours, running 100 km on a treadmill in just over 7 hours, 100 hours of continuous dancing, 24 hours moonwalk, played non-stop drumming 84 hours, performed non-stop musical 42 hours, Rocking on the chair 75 hours, Watching TV 69 hours in Regis & Kelly show, Running 1000 hours, Radio DJ 120 hours and the list goes on.

The most remarkable demonstration of Suresh’s commitment to help suffering children will be the World Peace Marathon.  This incredible journey will begin at 12:00 a.m. on December 25, 2009 in Jerusalem and end at 5:00 p.m. on June 24, 2010 in Mississauga, Canada.  During his voyage, Suresh will travel through 88 major cities, in 54 countries passing a symbolic peace torch to dignitaries in each place.  The journey will end with the peace torch being handed over to the Canadian dignitary and followed by a huge musical celebration.  Once his journey is complete, Suresh will have traveled over 6,000 KM, taking him a total of 181 days.  During this time he hopes to raise minimum One Billion dollars for Charity.   Also Suresh Joachim will submit a petition to the United Nation with million signatures to make June 24 a global cease fire day.
